HIALEAH, Fla. – A pair of first-half goals from Pablo Lobon and Koren Klein propelled Southeastern men's soccer to a 2-1 road victory over Florida National Tuesday afternoon.

The Fire struck almost immediately, with Lobon opening the scoring just 3:43 into the contest. Southeastern continued to press for a second and found it in the 34th minute when Fabian Perez connected with Klein who had entered only a 12 minutes earlier, who put the Fire ahead 2-0 with what ultimately became the game-winning goal.

Florida National answered before the break, as Michael Olszewski converted a penalty kick at 38:37 to cut Southeastern's halving the Fire lead heading into halftime.

The Conquistadors increased the pressure in the second half, but Southeastern's defense protected the one-goal advantage. Florida National finished with a 14-7 edge in total shots, though both sides placed four attempts on frame. Fire goalkeeper Noah Murray-Hawkins turned away three shots to earn his fifth victory of the season.

Southeastern had opportunities to create some breathing room after halftime, with Tomas Gomes putting an attempt on target and Filipe Santana and Adam Cooil also generating shots, but the two first-half goals proved enough.

The victory also served as a reversal of last season's meeting between the two programs, as Florida National defeated Southeastern 2-1 in 2025.

Tuesday's win moved Southeastern to 5-1-1 through its first seven matches, placing the 2026 Fire among the strongest seven-game starts in the program's recorded history. The opening stretch rivals the 2014 squad, which began its season 6-1 through seven contests.

Southeastern returns home on Friday, Sept. 25, when the Fire host Florida College at the SEU Soccer Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
