LAKELAND, Fla. — The Southeastern Fire earned a 3-0 victory over Webber International on Saturday night at SEU Soccer Field, improving to 4-1-1 on the season.
SEU controlled the match early, creating several scoring opportunities before finding the back of the net in the 11th minute. Thomas de Almedia Hardouin opened the scoring at 10:29, recording his first goal of the season to give the Fire a 1-0 lead.
The Fire continued to pressure the Warriors and doubled their advantage in the 27th minute.
Filipe Santana found the back of the net off assists from Hardouin and
Bruno Almeida, giving SEU a 2-0 lead heading into halftime.
SEU continued to control possession and create chances in the second half.
Pablo Lobon added to the Fire's lead in the 72nd minute, scoring his third goal of the season with assists from
Tomas Gomes and
Koren Klein.
Defensively, the Fire held Webber International without a goal throughout the 90 minutes. Goalkeeper
Noah Murray-Hawkins recorded the shutout without needing a save, while SEU limited the Warriors to five total shots.
SEU finished the night with 25 shots, including eight on target, while Webber International recorded five shots. The Fire will look to carry the momentum into its next contest against Florida National on September 22.
