LAKELAND, Fla. -- Due to Ave Maria's four person roster, Southeastern had little issues this afternoon and only needed two courts to secure victory.
Southeastern (9-3, 4-0 SUN) was gifted a 2-0 lead to start the match as the Gyrenes had to concede two singles court. Because of that, they also had to concede a doubles court. With the tremendous edge already, the No. 43 pairing of
Leonie Schondelmaier and
Aurora Compagnucci cruised to a 6-0 win on the second flight of doubles.
The No. 42 pairing of
Isabella Bolivar Garces and
Irene Parigi were just beat to the finish by their teammates, as their doubles match went unfinished, with Garces and Parigi up 5-0.
To clinch the match, it only took an additional thirty minutes for
Aurora Compagnucci to secure a 6-0, 6-0 win on line four to close out the match, dropping Ave Maria (1-9, 0-3 SUN).
With the match clinched, the top three lines were forced to halt with
Martina Picardi,
Alessia Ciampi, and
Irene Parigi each up a set.
Southeastern now turns their eyes to Florida National, tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m. to keep their perfect Sun Conference season intact.
