LAKELAND, Fla. -- Southeastern Women's Basketball will close out the regular season on Saturday, February 21 at 2 p.m. inside The Furnace, hosting Ave Maria on Senior Day. The pregame ceremony honoring the Fire's seniors will take place prior to tipoff, as SEU looks to extend its current momentum and complete the home portion of the schedule on a high note.

The Fire enter the finale at 24-3 overall and 14-1 in Sun Conference play, riding a 10-game winning streak. Southeastern has been especially strong at home with a 14-1 mark in Lakeland, while also posting an 8-1 road record and 2-1 mark at neutral sites. The consistency has shown on both ends of the floor, with SEU outscoring opponents by more than 23 points per game.
Offensively, Southeastern is averaging 77.7 points per game while shooting 47.4 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from three-point range. Nationally, the Fire rank 27th in scoring, sixth in field goal percentage, and second in three-point percentage. They also sit 17th in free throw percentage (75.5 percent) and 25th in assists per game (17.3), reflecting a balanced and efficient attack that spaces the floor and moves the ball effectively.
Defensively, SEU has limited opponents to just 54.6 points per game, a mark that ranks 14th in the NAIA. Opponents are shooting just 37.9 percent from the field and 26.9 percent from beyond the arc, both among the better defensive figures nationally. The Fire also average 11.9 steals per game, generating transition opportunities and helping create a +7.9 turnover margin.
From an analytical standpoint, Southeastern sits at No. 28 in the Massey Ratings, No. 20 in the NAIA RPI (as of Feb. 16), and No. 8 in the NAIA ARC East Region rankings (as of Feb. 17). The Fire are 1-3 in Quad 1 games and a perfect 11-0 in Quad 2 contests, underscoring their consistency against quality competition while continuing to build a postseason résumé.
Individually,
Mya Herman continues to pace the offense. The junior guard is averaging 17.3 points per game while shooting 52.7 percent from the field and 44.1 percent from three-point range. Herman ranks second in the Sun Conference in scoring and leads the league in three-point percentage. She has also added 64 steals on the season, impacting the game on both ends.
Grace Field remains one of the most complete players in the conference. Averaging 15.0 points and 9.4 rebounds per game, Field ranks among the league leaders in rebounding while also sitting near the top in scoring. She has totaled 253 rebounds and 99 assists, reflecting her versatility as both a low-post presence and facilitator. Defensively, her 70 steals and 21 blocks highlight her activity around the rim and in passing lanes.
Alley Haas has been one of the conference's most efficient perimeter shooters. She is shooting 43.8 percent from three-point range while averaging 7.7 points per game. Her 60 made three-pointers have provided consistent spacing, forcing defenses to extend and opening driving lanes for teammates.
Sarah Davis has added depth and balance off the bench, averaging 7.3 points per game while shooting 39.2 percent from beyond the arc. Davis has connected on 38 three-pointers this season and is shooting 88.0 percent from the free throw line, giving SEU another reliable scoring option in key moments.
At the point,
Mafalda Chambel directs the offense with 4.4 assists per game, ranking second in the conference. Chambel has dished out 118 assists on the year and contributes defensively with 36 steals, helping fuel Southeastern's ball movement and transition attack.
Ave Maria enters the weekend with a 10-11 overall record and a 7-8 mark in Sun Conference play. The Gyrenes are averaging 58.9 points per game while allowing 65.4, and they have been strong on the glass, pulling down 41.0 rebounds per contest. Ashley Chilson leads the team at 14.7 points and 7.9 rebounds per game, while Gabby Beauperthuy adds 13.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per outing. Ave Maria will look to control tempo and create second-chance opportunities as it closes out the regular season on the road.
Southeastern holds a 26-14 advantage in the all-time series, including a 14-7 record at home and a current five-game winning streak. The Fire are 8-2 in the last 10 meetings, highlighted by a 67-47 road win earlier this season on January 21, 2026. Over the past four matchups, SEU has won by double digits each time, including postseason and regular-season contests during the 2023-24 campaign. Southeastern will host the final site of the 2026 Sun Conference Women's Basketball Championship at The Furnace. As the regular-season champion, the Fire have earned a bye directly to the semifinal round in Lakeland, joined by the yet-to-be-determined No. 2 seed. First-round games featuring the No. 3 vs. No. 6 and No. 4 vs. No. 5 matchups will be played Tuesday at the home sites of the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds to determine the semifinal pairings.
The semifinal round will take place Friday, February 27, with SEU competing in Semifinal #2 at 7:15 p.m. The championship game is scheduled for Saturday, February 28 at 6 p.m., also at The Furnace, as the Fire look to defend their home floor in pursuit of the tournament title.
