Fire Five
1. The Fire are 5–3 overall and undefeated away from home simply because… they haven't had to leave Lakeland yet. This weekend at Mobile marks SEU's first road games of 2026.

2. SEU is dangerous when the bats heat up — the Fire are 4–0 when scoring 5+ runs and 3–0 when putting up 10+.

3. Blake Sandvik has been a stopper on the mound: 2–0, 1.50 ERA, .205 BAA, including seven shutout innings vs. No. 12 OKWU.

4. Power shows up in bunches — SEU has 6 home runs, including a grand slam and a back-to-back blast this season.

5. David Flores is setting the tone offensively, hitting .412 with a .565 OBP, reaching base in over half his plate appearances.

About the Fire
Southeastern enters the week at 5–3 overall, and coming off splitting a four-game series with No. 12 Oklahoma Wesleyan last weekend. All eight contests to date have been at home. Even with the small sample size, the Fire have displayed balance, producing timely hitting while limiting opponents to just 32 runs across eight games.

Nationally, SEU has been competitive across several statistical categories. The Fire rank 42nd in the NAIA in on-base percentage (.435) and 34th in home runs (6), reflecting a lineup that can both reach base and deliver extra-base power.

On the mound, SEU's 3.41 team ERA and 1.41 WHIP place them 55th and 41st nationally, respectively, while opponents are hitting .251 against Fire pitching, a top-50 mark nationally.

At the Plate
David Flores has been the Fire's most consistent bat, hitting .412 with a .565 on-base percentage through six games. He has seven hits and four RBIs already while playing flawless defense, giving SEU reliability on both sides of the ball.

Nathanial Hopkins has supplied a strong mix of contact and speed, batting .346 with nine hits, five RBIs, and three doubles. He is also a perfect 3-for-3 in stolen base attempts, creating pressure on opposing defenses and helping SEU generate runs in multiple ways.

Paul Wittmann has been one of SEU's most dangerous middle-of-the-order threats. He is hitting .304 with two home runs and nine RBIs while carrying a .500 on-base percentage and a .609 slugging percentage.

Cort Pryor has been the team's top run driver so far, leading Southeastern with 16 RBIs in just eight games. Hitting .278 with a home run and two doubles, Pryor has consistently delivered in scoring situations.

Cade Parry and Jace Essig have added depth to the lineup. Parry is batting .333 with a home run and four RBIs, showing timely pop, while Essig is hitting .313 with a homer and a .500 slugging percentage.

On the Mound
Blake Sandvik has emerged as the early staff ace. He is 2–0 with a 1.50 ERA across 12.0 innings, striking out 12 and holding opponents to a .205 batting average. His ability to command the zone has given SEU stability in weekend starts.

Byler Reither has paired well near the top of the rotation, going 1–1 with a 3.60 ERA and a team-high 14 strikeouts in 10.0 innings. Out of the bullpen, Brody McMullen has been dominant with a 0.00 ERA, 11 strikeouts in 10.0 innings, and a save, while Blake Albritton is 1–0 with a 3.86 ERA over 9.1 innings, giving the Fire multiple dependable arms to close games.

Parker Lambeth has yet to allow an earned run in his early appearances, while Peyton Czekalewski has been effective out of the bullpen with multiple scoreless outings and solid strikeout numbers. Micah Earwood has also turned in a clean appearance without allowing a run, and Cole Jones has given the Fire useful innings with the ability to generate strikeouts.

Opponent Snapshot — Mobile
Mobile enters the weekend at 1–7 overall, with an 0-4 mark at home. Offensively, the Rams are hitting .250 as a team with 57 hits and 26 RBIs through eight games. Eli Smith has paced the lineup with a .407 average and .500 on-base percentage, while Trevor Murphy provides power with five doubles and a team-best .667 slugging percentage. On the mound, Mobile owns a 6.18 team ERA, though Andin Bolen has been a bright spot early at 1–0 with a 1.13 ERA and eight strikeouts in eight innings.

All-Time Series vs. Mobile
This weekend's series marks a new chapter for both programs, as Southeastern and Mobile are set to meet on the diamond for the first time. The fresh matchup adds intrigue to the weekend, as both teams look to set the tone in the inaugural meeting between the Fire and Rams.
