No. 25 Fire Earn Home Victory Over Warner

Early 21–2 run propels Southeastern to 34-point decision at The Furnace

LAKELAND, Fla. – The No. 25 Southeastern University women's basketball team delivered a dominant performance Wednesday night at The Furnace, cruising past Warner 98–64 behind balanced scoring, defensive pressure, and a decisive early run that put the game out of reach.

The Fire (16-3, 6-1 Sun Conference) seized control late in the first quarter and never looked back. With just over a minute remaining in the opening period, Southeastern ignited a 21–2 run that carried through the 5:34 mark of the second quarter. That stretch transformed a competitive start into a commanding advantage, pushing the Fire in front 32–13 and setting the tone for the remainder of the contest.

Grace Field led all scorers and anchored the effort with her eighth double-double of the season, finishing with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Field was relentless on the glass and efficient around the rim, controlling the paint on both ends and helping fuel the Fire's momentum during the game-defining surge.

Southeastern's depth and balance once again stood out. Five players scored in double figures, while nine of the 10 players who saw action found the scoring column. Mya Herman added 17 points and four assists, providing steady scoring and playmaking. Kristiana Kulackovsk followed with 16 points and five assists, consistently directing the offense and creating quality looks. Sarah Davis sparked the Fire off the bench with 15 points, while Mafalda Chambel chipped in 11 to round out the double-figure scorers.

The Fire paired their scoring balance with exceptional efficiency. Southeastern shot 46.6 percent from the field and 43.5 percent from three-point range, but the most notable number came at the free-throw line. SEU finished a perfect 20-for-20 at the stripe, marking the most free throws made without a miss in a single game since the program's records began during the 2014–15 season. That flawless performance helped eliminate any opportunity for Warner to build momentum.

Defensively, Southeastern applied constant pressure, forcing 28 turnovers and converting those into 37 points. The Fire limited Warner to just 22 points over the first two quarters and carried a 48–22 lead into halftime. SEU continued to build separation in the third quarter, outscoring the Royals 27–18 to push the margin beyond 30 points, with the lead growing to as many as 39 in the fourth.

The Fire return to the road Wednesday, January 21, for a 5:30 p.m. Sun Conference matchup at Ave Maria.
