The Sun Conference has announced the 2024-25 specialty award winners for men's basketball. SEU's
Matthew Lentz was named the Men's Basketball Champion of Character.
A junior, Lentz has played three years with the Fire, and has lived out the NAIA Core Values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership by making a positive impact on his team in the huddle, in practices, and off the court.
When he isn't playing basketball, he leads on campus as an RA, and serves in community service with underprivileged youth, a local food bank, and assists Pathways School of Excellence, a high school for special needs students.
"We are so proud of Matt and who he is as a young man and teammate," said head coach, Hudson Welty. "He is well-deserving of this award, as he embodies our core values of Living Last, Passionate, Unified, and Tough. We are excited to see how God uses Matt in his next phase of life and are extremely grateful for his impact on our program and campus!"
