AVE MARIA, Fla. – The Fire couldn't wait to get back on the court, and it showed. Southeastern University used balanced scoring and eased past Ave Maria, 76-48, in their Sun Conference regular season finale today.
Tied at 9-9 only 3:36 into the contest, SEU ran off the final eight points of the first quarter and added the first two second-frame buckets for a 21-9 advantage. The Fire continued to build their lead to as many as 25 points, 59-34, by the end of the third quarter, never allowing the Gyrenes to get closer than 15 points in the second half.
