Winning Streak Hits Double Digits

SEU rolls to 10th consecutive victory with 3–0 sweep at Florida College

TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. -- SEU Volleyball continued its dominant stretch Tuesday night, sweeping Florida College on the road to record its 10th straight victory. The Fire improved to 19-2 overall after taking the match 25-15, 25-16, 25-21, behind an efficient offensive outing from senior outside hitter Laura Bonomi, who led all players with 16 kills while hitting .350 on 40 swings.

After trading early points in the opening frame, Southeastern quickly took control as its block forced the Falcons into a series of attack errors. SEU limited Florida College to a negative-.152 hitting mark in the first set and used an 11-3 run midway through to break it open. Emma Reed and Annelise de Jong combined for multiple stuffs at the net, while Jewel Carling provided steady right-side production as the Fire closed the set 25-15.

The Fire kept rolling in set two, hitting .206 as setters Haven Speer and Ashley Downs spread the ball evenly across the front line. Bonomi's all-around impact was on full display—adding a service ace and several key digs during a 7-1 surge that helped SEU create separation. Southeastern's block remained a difference-maker, producing five team blocks in the frame to secure a 25-16 decision.

Florida College showed resilience in the third, tying the score nine times before the Fire pulled away late. Kills from Bonomi, Yarelis Lopez, and Carling capped a decisive 5-1 closing run to finish the sweep 25-21.

Southeastern finished the night hitting .148 as a team while holding Florida College to negative-.015. The Fire dominated statistically with a 37-25 advantage in kills, 15-7 edge in blocks, and 67-60 margin in digs. Alongside Bonomi's 16 kills, Lopez contributed seven kills and 12 digs, and Carling tallied six kills and three solo blocks. Speer and Downs combined for 28 assists, while Marysa Connors anchored the defense with 20 digs.

The Fire now turn their attention back home for a highly anticipated Senior Day showdown on Saturday afternoon inside The Furnace, hosting conference rival Keiser at 2 p.m.
