MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- Southeastern volleyball continued its strong conference form with a dominant straight-set victory over Florida Memorial on Friday afternoon in Miami Gardens. The Fire cruised to set wins of 25-8, 25-10, and 25-14 to improve to 16-2 overall and 7-1 in Sun Conference play.
The Fire offense operated efficiently throughout the match, finishing with a .313 team hitting percentage and committing just seven attack errors.
Laura Bonomi once again paced the offense, leading all players with 13 kills while hitting .400 and adding a service ace and five digs.
Yarelis Lopez matched Bonomi's point total with 11 kills, three aces, and 13 digs for a well-rounded performance.
Lucrezia Ceroni contributed five kills and two blocks, while Emily Caske added four kills and three block assists. Setter
Haven Speer efficiently directed the attack, dishing out 19 assists and recording a service ace, while
Ashley Downs added 12 assists and 11 digs to help control the back row. Libero
Marysa Connors anchored the defense with 14 digs, continuing her consistent presence in the rotation.
Southeastern controlled each frame from start to finish, limiting the Lions to just a .010 hitting percentage across three sets. The Fire out-dug Florida Memorial 56–46 and held a commanding advantage in total points, 50 to 26.
The Fire return home to The Furnace on Wednesday, October 15, to host New College of Florida at 6:30 p.m. as they continue their push toward the top of the Sun Conference standings.
