LAKELAND, Fla. – Jman Dieng connected on back-to-back goals less than three minutes apart to lead Southeastern University to a 4-1 men's soccer victory over rival Warner University on Wednesday.
After the Royals opened the scoring at 11:13, the Fire turned up the heat with a trio of goals on the match's next three shots. Dieng took passes from Nico Munari and Elia Michelotti on separate scores at 17:17 and 19:59 to give SEU a lead they would never relinquish. Kory Nekoloff made it three-straight goals with his fourth of the season to give the Fire a 3-1 at the half.
Fabio De Paula added a final goal on an assist from Pietro Bronzin at 50:35 ot give the Fire a 4-1 lead.
SEU goalie Henrique Cavalini registered two saves on three shots faced in 90 minutes.
SEU moves to 5-2-1 (3-1 SUN) on the season. The Fire won its eighth match in a row at home against the Royals (1-3-3/0-2-1 The SUN) and second matching score of 4-1 after the same score last Oct. 14 of 2023.
SEU returns to action when they host New College of Florida on Saturday, October 5. Match time is 1 p.m.
