Fire Outlast Mighty Banyans to Notch Third Straight Win

LAKELAND, Fla. – The Fire ran their win streak to three this afternoon, as they scored two late goals and beat New College of Florida, 3-1.

Southeastern put the pressure on early striking five shots in the opening 14:06. Finally, Victor Cavalcante connected on a penalty kick for a 1-0 lead at 32:39 for his fourth goal of the season.

Following the Mighty Banyans game-tying goal in the 60th minute, the Fire pelted 10 shots within the next eight minutes. Enrico Lazzari finally found the back of the net for the Fire, heading in a Nico Munari cross and giving Southeastern a 2-1 advantage. On the match's next shot 7:12 later, Nekoloff tapped in an insurance goal from inside the box assisted by Fabio De Paula for the game's final goal and a 3-1 win.
