#18 Seahawks Hold off Fire

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Keiser University held off a Fire early second-half flurry and took away a 4-1 men's soccer win in Sun Conference play today.

Behind 1-0 following a home score, Liam Fisch tied the match when he collected an errant pass and chipped it over the keeper's head at 19:03. Keiser, though, answered right back only 40 seconds later when a shot was slotted past a diving Henrique Cavalini.

Trailing 2-1 after the opening 45 minutes, Southeastern controlled the opening five minutes of the second half. The Fire fired off four shots with two of them on goal by Enrico Lazzari at 46:29 and Fabio De Paula shortly after at 49:50. SEU continued its attack with three more shots and a Jman Dieng shot on goal at 66:41 with no fruits for their efforts. Keiser made it a two-goal difference at 73:41 with its third goal.

Arthur Bello put one of his five shots on net. De Paula, Dieng and Michael Susan added the other Fire shots on goal. The Fire took 12 shots in the second half, only two fewer than the Seahawks and put six of their eight shots on the net.

Goalie Henrique Cavalini stopped three of the eight shots he faced on the day.

SEU falls to 3-2-1 on the year and 1-1 in The Sun Conference. The No. 18 Seahawks (2-1-1, 2-0 SUN) were the Fire's third ranked opponent in their six matches this season.

SEU travels to Savannah, Ga., on Saturday to face SCAD. Kickoff is at 7 p.m..
