LAKELAND, Fla.—Southeastern received six honors at the annual Polk County All Sports Awards and Hall of Fame Banquet on Tuesday at the RP Funding Center.
The Men's 4x100 Relay team of
James Williamson III,
Davien Worrels,
Joseph Taylor, and
Cameron Alamia were honored as part of the Circle of Champions which recognizes all state and national champions from Polk County. Williamson III received additional honors as the 200 Meter National Champion, and was named the Polk County Collegiate Male Athlete of the Year.
Baseball was selected as the Male Collegiate Team of the Year after going wire-to-wire as the No. 1 team in the NAIA and winning both The Sun Conference regular season and tournament titles.
Bekki Kalaydjiev was honored with the Commissioners' Award for Perserverence for her comeback from a serious traffic accident in 2021 to return to the court this season and earn Sun Conference Player of the Year honors.
Director of Athletics Drew Watson was selected as the co-winner of the Bernie Little Sports Executive of the Year for the second time in his career alongside Polk County Athletic Director Dan Talbot. The tandem were honored for their collaboration to renovate the track facility at Tenoroc High School that will be fit to host both scholastic and collegiate championship events.
Since 2004, Fire Athletics has now won 30 Polk County All Sports Awards.
