Fire women's tennis gave Keiser everything it could handle, but it was not enough to topple the top seeded Seahawks as the Fire fell 4-0 in The Sun Conference Championship match.
Keiser went to work quickly and efficiently, finishing off doubles in flights one and three with 6-1 victories in each, giving themselves a 1-0 lead over the Fire early on. Flight two was called before it finished with the Seahawks Ecaterina Visnevscaia and Vanja Vidanovic holding a 4-2 lead over Martina Picardi and Simone Simas.
Singles play seemed to be completely in favor of the Seahawks as Visnevscaia won over Neleah Neiberline 6-0, 6-1, and seven minutes later Violet Apisah defeated Picardi 6-0, 6-1 to push the Keiser lead to 3-0.
The Fire fought to the end pushing all matches to three sets, it took Keiser another hour and twenty minutes before they were able to call the Sun Conference title theirs. Isabella Perez finished off Irene Lopez in line six 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 to claim the 4-0 win and the championship.
Lines three, four, and five went unfinished with Keiser holding leads in all four lines.
