Softball Takes Series Opener at Webber

BABSON PARK, Fla. - Southeastern picked up their 30th win of the season, defeating the Warriors 3-1 in game one of the series. 

Chapel Cunningham got things started early for the Fire, singling through the left side in the top of the second to score Hailey Brooks to tie the game. In the top of the fifth, Nicole Wasserstrom scored the second run, advancing to home plate off an error. 

In the top of the fifth, Cunningham singled to the pitcher, scoring Wasserstrom again and taking the lead 3-1. 

Cunningham led the way for the Fire offense, going 2-4 with two RBIs. 

Lauren Sekinger added three hits, going 3-4 on the day. Brooks went 2-2 in addition to her run scored. Ella Brooks, Riley Sanders, and Nicole Wassterstrom each had one hit on the day. 

Eden Playa picked up her 12th win of the season, moving her record to 12-2. Through five innings pitched, Playa struck out three batters, gave up two hits, and walked one batter.

The Fire are back in action tomorrow at 1 p.m. for game two of the series at Webber International.
