Fire Fall to Seahawks in Sun Semifinals

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Fire took on the nation's best all year and Monday afternoon was no
different. In the Sun Conference semifinals, Southeastern University fell to top seed and NAIA No. 2
Keiser University, 4-0, in women's soccer.

Fire keeper Ella Sebree and the defense held off the Seahawks initially, as Sebree recorded six saves, but
Keiser found the back of the net at 22:30 to take a 1-0 lead. Olivia Thomassey fired SEU's first shot on
goal at 29:51 and only 30 seconds later Keiser added a second goal, taking a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Sebree finished the match with 12 saves. Rebecca Laface led the Fire offense with four shots of the
team's seven, with one on goal.

SEU had their best offensive surge after the 62 nd  minute where Lozano put a shot on net (62:44),
Davidson missed her attempt high (63:28), and Laface shot one wide at 70:21.

The Fire faced eight ranked opponents in their 16 total matches and end the season with a 7-7-2 record.
SEU has qualified for the NAIA National Tournament seven straight years but will miss the tournament
for the first time since the 2016 season.
