Box Score BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Fire made a final charge to no avail Wednesday. In an evenly played battle, Southeastern University's Izzy Tomlin connected on a mid-second half goal, but its final surge was not enough for a deciding tally and tied Webber International, 1-1, on the women's soccer pitch.
Tomlin broke a scoreless tie when she put the ball in the back of the home net and gave SEU the lead at the 65:28 mark. The visitors lead held for exactly 14 minutes until Webber International made it 1-1 at 79:30. The Fire raged in the final six minutes where Madelyn Davidson had a shot blocked (83:59), Carmen Garcia had her shot on goal turned away (87:44) and Davidson added the final attempt fly high (89:08).
For the second time this fall, SEU came out with a tie and moved to 5-6-2 for the season, while Webber International went to 2-7-2.
The Fire out-shot WIU by a 17-14 total and 6-4 on shots making it on goal.
