Fire Fall to No. 2 Seahawks

Box Score

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Fire had their three-match winning streak snapped today, as they fell to No. 2 Keiser University, 4-0, in West Palm Beach.

SEU goalie Ella Sebree saved her first shot of seven on the day at 19:17 before Keiser (12-0/6-0 The Sun) tapped one into the bottom right corner only 1:32 later for what would be the only goal the Seahawks needed on the day.

The SEU defense shined early in the second 45 minutes. The Fire defensive backs blocked Seahawk shots at both 45:38 and 54:09. Sebree did her part to keep the match at a one-goal margin as the keeper turned away four other Keiser shots with saves coming at 47:24, 51:05, 53:01 and 57:32. Keiser was finally able to break through the SEU defense with three scores in 12:05 of game time.

With the defeat, SEU drops to 4-6-1 overall and 3-4 in The Sun.

The Fire return home this weekend when they hosts rival Warner University in a Saturday afternoon match starting at 2 p.m.
