KANSAS CITY, Mo.- The recognition continues to roll in for Southeastern women's soccer keeper
Micaela Owen as she has been named the NAIA Defensive Player of the Week.
Owen also earned Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors after shutting out No. 5 ranked Keiser with six saves on Saturday. The shutout marks the first time since 2016 that the nationally ranked Seahawks have been shutout in a regular season SUN contest.
The graduate student also worked a shutout earlier in the week against Ave Maria University, recording five saves.
Owen has now worked a shutout in three of her last five starts.
The Fire will be back in action tomorrow as they host St. Thomas University at 7 p.m.
