LAKELAND, Fla.- Southeastern women's soccer has swept the Sun Conference weekly awards after a 2-0 win over the No. 5 team in the nation, Keiser University.
Madelyn Davidson has been named the SUN Offensive Player of the Week while
Micaela Owen has been named the SUN Defensive Player of the Week.
Davidson was responsible for both goals in the Fire's upset victory over the NAIA Top 5 team. Davidson gave the Fire the lead in the 31
st minute with her second goal of the season and added an insurance goal in the 48
th minute to solidify the victory.
Owen was perfection in the goal, tallying a career-high six saves for the shutout against a team that had not been shutout in a regular season SUN contest since the 2016 season. Owen now has three shutouts in her last five starts, two coming last week.
Southeastern will be back in action on Wednesday as they host St. Thomas at 7 p.m.
