LAKELAND, Fla.- A quick-working, more-than-efficient offense aided Southeastern men's soccer (3-0-1, 1-0 SUN) to a 3-0 win in their Sun Conference opener tonight against Ave Maria University.

The Fire offense got off 28 shots through the entirety of the contest, 20 in the first half alone. Of the 28, 12 were on goal.

The defense allowed just four shots from the Gyrenes in 90 minutes.

Southeastern controlled the Gyrenes from the opening whistle with their first goal coming just five minutes in after
Marko Pengili found the top right corner from a loose ball inside the box.

The Fire lead doubled 30 minutes in after
Kory Nekoloff took an assist from
Luca Baldestein and recorded his first goal of the season.

The final goal from the Fire came at the 56
th minute mark after
Edoardo Venutolo took an assist from
Roque Viegas Jr. and in a one-on-one with the keeper, won the faceoff with a shot into the bottom left corner.

Southeastern will next take on No. 13 Keiser University on Saturday at 12 p.m. in West Palm Beach.
