LAKELAND, Fla.- Southeastern men's soccer controlled the entirety of their home opener, taking a 5-2 win over Point Park in a well-rounded offensive effort.

Southeastern outshot the Pioneers 12-10 with six shots on goal.

The Pioneers took the lead with an early goal just four minutes into the contest.

The Fire then took and held control for the remainder of the contest, beginning with a response goal by
Edoardo Venutolo just two minutes later.

In the 10
th minute,
Roque Viegas Jr. netted an impressive goal into the top left corner off a
Marko Pengili corner kick to give the Fire the lead.

Gianluca Contegno then joined the scoring fun with an unassisted goal in the 26
th minute after an uncontested shot from midfield found the top right corner.

The Pioneers responded quickly out of the locker-room once again, bringing the score within one with a goal in the 48
th minute.

Another quick Fire response extinguished any Pioneer momentum as
Victor Cavalcante netted his first goal in a Fire uniform after finding a deflection off a keeper save.

In the 64
th minute, Venutolo and Contegno combined for yet another Fire goal as Contegno finished the cross from Venutolo for his second goal of the night.

Contegno concluded the night with two goals and an assist while Venutolo recorded a goal and assist.
