LAKELAND, Fla.- Upon the release of the 2023 Sun Conference Women's Soccer Preseason Poll, Southeastern has been slotted second with 41 points behind Keiser University who took the unanimous first-place spot.
The Fire have been voted by the conference head coaches to finish second in the SUN after a 14-4-2 overall record and 6-1-1 conference record last season. In the SUN Tournament, the Fire defeated SCAD-Savannah 2-1 in the semifinal before falling to Keiser by a score of 1-0 in the finals.
After earning an at-large bid into the NAIA National Tournament, the Fire hosted an NAIA First and Second Round, defeating Georgia Gwinnett 4-0 before falling to Westmont College 1-0 in the Second Round.
The new season for the Fire will begin on August 30
th as they host Brewton-Parker with the conference season beginning on September 13
th with a road matchup against Ave Maria University.
