Fire Football Releases 2023 Schedule

LAKELAND, Fla.— Three teams that ended last season in the NAIA Coaches' Top 15
highlight the tenth season of football at Southeastern University.
 
The 2023 schedule features five home games with the season opening against NCAA Division II Savannah State at 7 p.m. at Victory Field.
 
"We are excited to play a challenging 2023 schedule," said coach Adam Waugh. "The non-conference portion will test us with a strong Division II opponent State along with two perennial NAIA powers."
 
The Fire will then hit the road to take on Reinhardt University in Waleska, Ga. on September 9th in a rematch of Southeastern's first playoff game in 2016. Reinhardt finished the 2022 season ranked ninth in the coaches' poll with an 8-1 regular season record.
 
Following a bye week, the Fire will travel to the site of the first game in program history to take on Faulkner in Montgomery, Ala. on September 23rd.
 
Southeastern returns home on September 30th for its first Sun Conference game of the season against Warner at 7 p.m. then will travel to Webber International on October 7th.
 
"Of course, the Sun Conference schedule will be as strong as ever as the conference continues to raise its national profile," said Waugh. "We are also looking forward to the addition of Thomas University to the Sun Conference slate."
 
The Fire will take on Thomas for the first time on October 14th at Victory Field. This will be the first season of football for the Night Hawks.
 
On October 21st, Southeastern travels to West Palm Beach to take on Keiser which played for the national championship last season. The Fire will host Florida Memorial on October 28th for Homecoming before traveling to St. Thomas on November 4th. The Bobcats finished the 2022 season ranked 15th with a 9-2 record.
 
The season ends at home on November 11th against Ave Maria University.
 
Fans can get an early look at the 2023 Fire football team during its spring football exhibition on April 14th at 7 p.m. The free event will also have sampling from Coca-Cola Florida and Publix. Click here to reserve your tickets.
 
Season ticket packages for the 2023 season are on sale now. Single game tickets for all fall sports will go on sale August 4th.
 
"Everyone associated with Fire football is excited about what lies ahead in the fall of 2023, where we will test ourselves against some of the best competition the NAIA has to offer," said Waugh.
