Fire vs. Seahawks this Weekend for SUN Series

LAKELAND, Fla.- After an eight-game home stretch, Southeastern softball will hit the road this weekend to West Palm Beach, Fla. for a three-game Sun Conference series against Keiser University on Friday at 3 p.m. and a doubleheader Saturday at 12 and 2 p.m.
 
The No. 16 ranked Fire currently sit at the top of the Sun Conference with a 13-2 overall record after taking last week's series against No. 21, College of Coastal Georgia.
 
Currently sitting within the top three in the conference in hitting, pitching, and fielding percentage, the Fire hold a .312 batting average captained by freshman Nicole Wasserstrom who holds a team-best .423 average against conference opponents and .533 average through her last 10 contests.
 
Through the last 10 contests, Leah Gonzalez has reached base safely in every game and has posted a .467 average with a team-high 14 hits, two home runs, and seven RBI's.
 
The pitching staff has held conference opponents to a .204 batting average thus far behind a collective 1.26 ERA. Claire Sekinger sits at a perfect 10-0 with 73 strikeouts in 66.1 innings of work while Autumn Hunter has held conference opponents to just a .192 average with six earned runs in 29.2 innings. Kenzie Forrester holds a staff-low ERA of 0.72 after allowing just one earned run through 9.2 conference innings.
 
The Seahawks come into the week sitting at fourth in the SUN with a 9-6 conference record and are coming off a conference series loss to Thomas University. Hitting a collective .257 in conference play, the Seahawks offense are led by Lacee Travens who holds a .348 average while Molly Reid has posted a team-high 15 hits.
 
On the mound, the Seahawks hold a collective 3.41 ERA led by Lizzy Small who has tallied 67.2 conference innings. Small has held opponents to a .274 average with a 2.93 ERA and SUN 7-4 record.
 
Southeastern holds a historical 16-6 record over the Seahawks, sweeping last year's three-game matchup in Lakeland.
