LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga.—Southeastern dropped its first women's tennis match in five tries with a loss to defending national champion Georgia Gwinnett Sunday afternoon.
The doubles point went to the Grizzlies with wins at No. 2 and No. 3.
In singles play, wins at Nos. 4, 5, and 6 clinched the match.
Micah Sypert was up a set at No. 2 Singles with the second set tied 3-3 against third-ranked Tereza Koplova.
Beatrice Letizia was up a set but down 5-3 in the second against Justine Lespes at No. 3 Singles.
The Fire will be back on the courts in Lawrenceville to take on William Woods Monday afternoon.
