LAKELAND, Fla.- A light week for Southeastern women's basketball will consist of just one home contest on Saturday against Point University at 2 p.m.
The Fire hold a current 6-4 overall record and are coming off a commanding 82-45 win over the University of Cincinnati-Clermont last week.
Through their first 10 games of the season, the offense has averaged 67.1 points per game, shooting .390 from the field and has been captained by graduate student
Bekki Kalaydjiev who averages 13.4 points per game with a .429 field goal percentage. Kalaydjiev also leads the Fire in assists and steals with 35 and 26 respectively.
Anja Knoflach also averages over 10 points per contest, shooting .415 from the field.
Defensively, the Fire rank 13
th nationally in points allowed per contest at 53.9 and are led by
Rebecca Cook who averages 7.9 rebounds per game.
The Skyhawks of Point University hold a current 4-4 overall record, most recently taking a 61-51 win over the University of Mobile. Collectively, the Skyhawks average 64 points per game and have shot 35.6% from the field and 29.3% from three-point range. Senior Matea Boyd leads the offense with 15.4 points per game. Ky'Leo Worrels averages nearly a double-double with nine points and a team-best 11.1 rebounds per game.
The Skyhawks hold the historical edge over the Fire with a 12-11 overall record despite falling 96-77 to the Fire last season in West Point, Ga.
