Volleyball Semifinal Match Set

LAKELAND, Fla.- Southeastern volleyball will take on Keiser University in Miami Gardens on Friday at 4 p.m. in the Sun Conference Tournament semifinal.
 
Southeastern earned the two-seed in the tournament and a bye into the semifinal match after posting a 12-2 conference record during the regular season.
 
The Fire average 12.9 kills per set behind a .231 attack percentage while the defense has held their opponents to just a .127 attack percentage. The defense averages two blocks per set with 169 total. Of the 169 blocks by the Fire, graduate student Tatyana Lyons has recorded 72.
 
The offense has been led by Grace Petty who has recorded a double-double in 10 different contests this season. The reigning SUN Attacker of the Week averages 3.23 kills per set and 3.31 digs per set, both of which lead the Fire. Petty also leads the Fire in service aces with 35. Alexandra Postlethwaite was recently named the SUN Setter of the Week and sits third in the conference in assists per set at 8.55.
 
Keiser advanced to the semifinal contest after beating Warner University 3-1 in the quarterfinals. The Seahawks hold a 30-10 overall record and 9-5 SUN record with two of those losses coming against the Fire.
 
The offense holds an attack percentage of .214 with an average of 12.4 kills per set while the defense has held opponents to a .145 attack percentage, averaging 1.5 blocks per set.
 
The Seahawks have the conference leader in kills in Brooklyn Slater who averages 4.3 kills per set with a .329 attack percentage. Setter Hannah Heide sits second in the conference in assists per set at 9.61 while Erika Magin sits second in the SUN in digs per set at 4.05.
 
The Fire are 2-0 against the Seahawks this season, taking both contests in three sets.
