Fire Host Bobcats for SUN Semifinal

LAKELAND, Fla.- Southeastern women's soccer will compete in the Sun Conference Tournament semifinal match on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Lakeland against St. Thomas as they look to advance to their eighth consecutive SUN Tournament championship.
 
The No. 12 ranked Fire begin the tournament as the two-seed with a 10-2-2 conference record while the No. 17 ranked Bobcats claimed the three-seed with a 9-3-2 SUN record.
 
Southeastern averages 2.63 goals and 16.3 shots per game while holding opponents to 1.19 goals and 12 shots per game. The offense is led by Madelyn Davidson who sits second in the conference in goals with 10. Micaela Owen has been a large part of the Fire's seven shutouts this season, posting an .818 save percentage with 81 saves.
 
The Bobcats have been one of the strongest defensive teams in the conference this season, holding opponents to just 0.78 goals per game and 8.8 shots per game, completing 10 shutouts during the regular season. Isabella Penaranda sits second in the conference in save percentage at .839 with 52 saves. Offensively, Gabrielle Cimino has recorded a team-high nine goals and six assists.
 
The Bobcats advanced to the semifinal contest after downing Warner University 7-1 in the quarterfinal match on Saturday.
 
Southeastern holds a historic 12-6-1 overall record over the Bobcats including a 3-1 win in Miami Gardens and a 0-0 tie at home this season.
