Men's Soccer Hosts Warriors to Begin SUN Tournament

LAKELAND, Fla.- Southeastern men's soccer will head into the Sun Conference Tournament this week as the No. 3 seed and will host the six seed, Webber International, on Saturday at 7 p.m. for the quarterfinal round.
 
The winner of the SUN quarterfinal will advance to the semifinal match against second-seeded Keiser on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
 
The Fire and the Warriors have met twice already this season with the Fire taking both contests by scores of 3-1 and 4-1, moving their historical record to 11-7-1 over the Warriors.
 
Southeastern secured the three seed in the tournament after concluding the regular season with an 8-4-2 SUN record. The Fire lead the conference in goals per game at 2.65 as well as shots. Victor Cavalcante currently sits second in the SUN in goals (11), shots (63), and points (25). Gianluca Contegno has recorded 22 points with nine goals and four assists. Cavalcante and Contegno each have two goals against the Warriors this season.
 
As a team, the Warriors (6-10-2, 5-8-1 SUN) have allowed 2.11 goals per game while recording only 1.8 per game. Ruben Marquez has recorded 10 of the team's 28 goals on the season. In goal, Ben Parkinson has posted a .679 save percentage with 76 saves on 124 shots faced.
