LAKELAND, Fla.- The No. 12 ranked Fire women's soccer team has hauled in five All-Sun Conference honors.
Earning First Team All-Conference honors were
Madelyn Davidson and
Karissa King.
Davidson has started in all 16 contests for the Fire this season, leading the team in goals with 10 which ranks second in the SUN. The sophomore put 23 shots on goal throughout the regular season and recorded two game-winning goals and three multi-goal games.
King captained a defense that recorded seven shutouts throughout the regular season and held opponents to just 1.19 goals per game. In 13 games, the midfielder also recorded one goal and an assist.
The Fire defense was also well-represented on the second team list with midfielder
Makayla Peddycoart and defender
Ramsey Watkins each earning the honor.
Peddycoart was an everyday presence for the Fire, starting in all 16 contests and recording three goals, one of which came against the No. 5 ranked Bees of SCAD-Savannah in the SUN Regular Season championship matchup.
Watkins earned her third All-Conference honor after being named honorable mention the last two seasons. The junior played in all 16 contests as a defender and recorded two assists.
Katie Carnes also was named Second Team All-Conference after seven goals and three assists in the regular season with two multi-goal games including a hat trick against Florida Memorial.
Southeastern earned the No. 2 seed in the SUN Tournament and will await the winner of St. Thomas and Warner for Tuesday's semifinal matchup.
