LAKELAND, Fla.—The third-ranked Fire wrestling team will take part in a Top 15 dual on Friday before the always-challenging Life U Open on Saturday before a break for Thanksgiving.
Southeastern is 1-0 on the season, winning its lone dual of the year with a 32-10 victory at St. Thomas. The Fire have also had multiple podiums at their two previous open tournaments.
The Fire take on No. 13 Reinhardt on Friday at 6:30 for their second dual of the year. The all-time series is tied 4-4. The last two matches between the programs have gone the way of the Fire, winning 24-9 during the Fire Duals last December and 18-13 in Waleska in November of 2021.
Some of the individual matches of note include a possible Top 10 bout at 125 between No. 10
Esau Bazilme and seventh-ranked Angel Banda of Reinhardt. At 157, the Fire have No. 1
Sal Silva and No. 13
Andreus Bond as options and Reinhardt has sixth-ranked Trevor Burdick.
Trace Braun checks in at 18
th at 165 pounds and will likely see third-ranked Matt Jenkins. At 174,
Karter Johnson of SEU is 21
st and Reinhardt's Curtis Thomas is 15
th.

The Life U Open is loaded with wrestlers from every division of college wrestling including the University of North Carolina, The Citadel, the top-ranked NAIA program in Grand View, and multiple NCWA and club programs.
