Box Score AVE MARIA, Fla.- Southeastern men's soccer (7-2-2, 5-2-1 SUN) put on an offensive clinic tonight backed by five points from Victor Cavalcante after a 8-0 win over Ave Maria University.
Gianluca Contegno's fourth goal of the season gave the Fire the early lead after he found the back of the net in the 11th minute.Contegno took a long ball from Cavalcante and put it into the bottom left with a sliding effort.
In the 38th minute, Cavalcante's team-best eighth goal of the year gave the Fire a 2-0 lead, this time finishing an assist from Contegno.
Cavalcante later added to his dominating offensive night, assisting Chris Thorpe on his first goal of the season in the 50th minute for a three-goal Fire lead.
Just eight minutes later, Cavalcante picked up his fifth point of the night came in the form of his third assist of the contest after Roque Viegas Jr. finished his cross for a 4-0 lead.
Edward Alderson got in on the action in the 72nd minute after burying an unassisted shot into the top right corner from the left side of the field.
Kory Nekoloff gave the Fire a six-goal lead in the 80th minute after finishing a deflected shot from Murilo Ramos, recording his fifth goal of the season and third of the week.
The final goal of the night came from Agustin Alcantara after he netted his first of the season off Ramos' second assist of the night.
The Fire will be back in action on Wednesday as they host No. 6 St. Thomas University at 7 p.m.
