LAKELAND, Fla. - Southeastern men's soccer (5-2-2, 3-2-1 SUN) will be in action two times this week.
On Thursday, the Fire will face off at home against Sun Conference opponent SCAD-Savannah. SCAD is currently 4-3-2 and 3-2-1 in SUN play and are coming off a big win over the receiving votes Florida Memorial Lions who they beat 1-0 on Sunday. Collectively, the Bees average 1.56 goals per game behind 12.3 shots per game and a .495 shot-on-goal percentage.
In their last matchup in the fall of 2022, Southeastern beat SCAD 3-0 at home to extend their historical record to 8-7-2 against the Bees.
On Saturday, Southeastern will travel to Ave Maria to play the 1-8-1 and 1-5 in SUN Gyrenes. Ave Maria is coming off their first win of the season over Warner who they beat 3-1 last Saturday. They currently average .90 goals per game behind 8.6 shots per game and a .395 shots-on-goal percentage.
This is the Fire's second meeting with the Gyrenes this season with their last matchup being on September 13th where the Fire won 3-0. Edoardo Venutolo, Kory Nekoloff and Marko Pengili each had goals in the contest.
The Fire currently average two goals per contest and sit second in the SUN behind St. Thomas.
Victor Cavalcante sits at second in the SUN with shots per game, averaging 4.17 per contest. He leads the team with goals at five followed by Roque Viegas Jr. who has four goals and three assists on the year.
Henrique Cavalini currently has 25 saves for the Fire along with a .714 save percentage and a 4-0-1 record on the season.
