Regular Season Conference Title on the Line This Week

LAKELAND, Fla.- Contests against Florida Memorial and No. 5 SCAD-Savannah will conclude the regular season this week for No. 12 Southeastern women's soccer.
 
The Fire will head to Miami Gardens on Wednesday for a 1 p.m. contest against Florida Memorial before concluding the regular season on Saturday at 1 p.m. against the Bees.
 
Southeastern currently sits second in the conference behind the Bees with a 9-2-1 conference record and 9-4-1 overall record. The Fire currently sit three points behind the Bees in the SUN standings, giving Saturday's contest between the two the possibility of determining the SUN regular season championship.
 
The Fire's nationally ranked offense averages 2.43 goals and 15.7 shots per game and has been captained by Madelyn Davidson who has found the back of the net nine times this season, putting her tied for second in the conference. Naira Lopez sits second on the team in points with 13 behind five goals and three assists. In goal, Micaela Owen has contributed to seven shutouts from the Fire defense this season, recording 75 saves and an .824 save percentage. The Fire defense has held opponents to 1.14 goals per game.
 
The Lions begin the week with a 1-11 SUN record and are looking to snap a five-match losing streak. The offense averages less than one goal per game with no player holding more than two goals. Both Sierra Bartley and Kiara Kallie have recorded two goals and an assist.
 
Earlier this season, the Fire advanced their historical record to 13-1 over the Lions with a 4-0 win in Lakeland.
 
The Bees come into the week with a near perfect 10-1-1 conference record, tying No. 17 Keiser 1-1 and falling to No. 18 St. Thomas 2-1. The defense has been near impenetrable, allowing just 0.63 goals per contest while the offense averages 2.75 goals and nearly 20 shots per game. Sydney Chura leads the conference in goals with 13 and six assists for 32 points while Abigail Siddall sits tied with Southeastern's Davidson with nine goals. Ines Sommer sits second in the conference in assists with eight. In goal, Katelynn Balsiger holds an .877 save percentage with 71 saves and just 10 goals allowed.
 
Southeastern held an eight-game winning streak over the Bees before falling 3-2 in their first meeting this season.
