Men's Soccer Begins Final Week of Regular Season

LAKELAND, Fla.- In their final week of the regular season, Southeastern men's soccer will face off against Florida Memorial University and SCAD-Savannah, looking to advance their 9-4-2 and 7-4-1 Sun Conference record.
 
On Wednesday, the Fire will host Florida Memorial at 7 p.m. for Senior Night and will end the week in Savannah, Ga. on Saturday for a 3 p.m. contest against the Bees.
 
Southeastern currently sits third in the SUN behind No. 2 ranked St. Thomas University and No. 16 Keiser University.
 
Collectively, the Fire average 2.67 goals and 17.1 shots per contest while the defense has held opponents to 1.33 goals and 10.3 shots per game. Victor Cavalcante has led the offense all season, netting nine goals and three assists for 21 points. Gianluca Contegno has also made significant contributions to the offense, recording eight goals and three assists. Defensively, Henrique Cavalini holds a .673 save percentage with 35 saves.
 
The Lions of Florida Memorial hold a 7-6-2 overall record and 5-5-1 conference record and are coming off a two-win week, besting Webber International and SCAD-Savannah.
 
The offense averages 1.87 goals and 16 shots per game and are led by eight goals and one assist from Geovannie Lake. Brad Tulley has also been a part of 10 Lions' goals with five goals and five assists. The defense has allowed 1.67 goals and 8.9 shots per game with Batony Ilyes making a team-high 19 saves as the keeper.
 
The Fire and the Lions met earlier in the season in Miami Gardens where the Lions came out on top with the 2-1 win.
 
The Bees of SCAD-Savannah begin the week with a 6-6-3 overall record and 5-5-2 SUN record and are looking to get back in the win column after dropping back-to-back contests last week. Southeastern will look to expose a Bees defense that has allowed 2.07 goals and 14 shots per game from their competitors. In goal, Connor Friel has accumulated a .684 save percentage with 67 saves. Offensively, the Bees average 1.93 goals and 13.1 shots per game and are led by Ryan Holmes who has recorded 13 goals and three assists.
 
Southeastern took the first meeting this year 4-1 from the Bees in Lakeland to move the historical record to 9-7-2.
