LAKELAND, Fla. - The week ahead for Southeastern volleyball consists of two conference matchups.
They will host Webber International University on Wednesday at 7 p.m. On Saturday, the Fire will travel to Miami Gardens to take on St. Thomas University at 2 p.m.
Grace Petty is leading the Fire with 203 total kills followed by Emilia Harding with 171. Alexandra Postlethwaite leads the team in assists with 505 on the season and just hit 2,000 career assists last week.
Southeastern is second in the SUN in hitting percentage with .236. The Fire are also second in kills per set, averaging 12.85.
Webber International is currently 9-9 on the season and 3-5 in SUN conference play. Their conference wins include Florida Memorial 3-0, Ave Maria 3-2, and College of Coastal Georgia 3-2.
In their last matchup, the Fire beat the Warriors 3-0. Southeastern took each set 25-19, 25-16, and 25-23. Nadia Reid is leading the Warriors in kills with 189 on the season.
St. Thomas is receiving votes in the national coaches' poll. They hold a 17-2 overall record and are 8-0 in SUN conference play.
The Bobcats beat SEU in September 3-1 hitting .254, while the Fire hit .210. St. Thomas leads the conference in hitting percentage at .238 on the season. They also lead in kills, averaging 12.60 per set.
Alexandra Bruno leads the Bobcats in kills with 202 on the season. Amanda Allende is just behind with 199. Payton Bertke leads in assists with 583 on the year, which is also leading the Sun Conference. Sana Denis leads the conference in hitting with a .360 percentage.
