LAKELAND, Fla.- Southeastern women's soccer has swept the Sun Conference weekly awards with
Katie Carnes earning SUN Offensive Player of the Week and
Micaela Owen earning her second SUN Defensive Player of the Week.
Carnes earned the honors after a three-goal week that aided the No. 13 ranked Fire to two more wins. The junior set the tone for the Fire's 3-1 win over No. 17 St. Thomas University, finding the back of the net in the opening 33 seconds of the contest.
Against Warner University, the Lakeland native added two more with goals in the ninth and 13
th minute.
Owen earned her second weekly honor after a career-best 16 saves at St. Thomas. The graduate student allowed just one goal to the nationally ranked offense and secured her seventh shutout of the season against Warner University with two more saves.
Southeastern will return to action on Wednesday as travel to No. 18 Keiser University for a 1:30 p.m. contest.
