LAKE WALES, Fla. - An impressive three-goal game from Gianluca Contegno fueled Southeastern's 4-1 win over Sun Conference opponent Warner University, moving the Fire to 8-3-1 and 6-3-1 in SUN.
After giving up an early goal in the fourth minute of play, the Fire held the Royals scoreless the rest of the contest.Â
Contegno's first goal came in the 20th minute, sinking one in to tie the match 1-1. Kory Nekoloff followed with a goal in the 34th minute, giving the Fire the 2-1 lead.Â
In the second half, Contegno's second goal of the game broke in the 66th minute, moving the Fire to 3-1 over the Royals.Â
With just eight minutes left in the contest, Contegno sunk his third goal of the game and his seventh goal of the season, advancing the lead 4-1.Â
The Fire scored four goals off of seven shots on goal.Â
Southeastern will take on No. 17 Keiser University at home next Wednesday at 7 p.m.
