Gabe Jacobs has been named the NAIA Wrestler of the Week.

In the 285-bracket, Jacobs took the title after going 6-0 with falls in four of his six matches, one of which came in the first period against No. 7 ranked Joshua Isaac of Missouri Valley to earn a spot in the championship. In the finals, No. 6 ranked Jacobs edged out All-American Tommy Mommer with a 2-1 riding time victory to claim the 285-pound title.

The transfer totaled four pins in just 7:01, coming in at second for most pins in the least amount of time in the tournament. He also totaled 29 team points for the Fire for the second most in the tournament.

Jacobs and the Fire will be back in action this weekend in The Fire Pit as they take on Bluefield University on Friday at 7 p.m.
