Fire Face Seahawks this Week

LAKELAND, Fla.- Southeastern (7-10, 4-3 SUN) will see just one contest this week as they travel to West Palm Beach, Fla. on Saturday for a 2 p.m. contest against Sun Conference opponent, Keiser University, in a battle for fifth place in the SUN.
 
The Fire are coming off a 1-1 week with a loss to top-ranked Florida Memorial and an upset win over third-place St. Thomas on the road by a score of 77-69.
 
In conference play, the Fire average 74.6 points per game with a .402 field goal percentage and .321 three-point percentage. Graduate Gabby Suarez currently leads the Sun Conference in scoring with an average of 19.1 points per game (17.9 in SUN) and also in extra-point shooting with a .373 three-point percentage and average of 2.8 per game. Josselin Geer leads the rebounding for the Fire with an average of 9.0 per contest in conference play while Emilia Sexton ranks third in the conference in assists with 69 (4.1 per game).
 
The Seahawks begin the week with a 12-6 overall record and 3-3 SUN record while averaging 65.8 points per game in conference play. Collectively, the Seahawks have posted a field goal percentage of 39.7% against SUN teams but have been less successful against conference opponents from beyond the arc, shooting 27% compared to their 30% against non-conference teams. In six conference games, Kennedy Schlabach averages 17.5 points per game while shooting 42.5% from the field. Elise Ellison-Coons leads the defensive effort with 8.5 rebounds per game in conference play.
 
The Fire currently hold a 15-game winning streak over the Seahawks with their last meeting resulting in a narrow 56-53 Fire victory last season.
