LAKELAND, Fla.- After opening Sun Conference play going 1-1 last week with a road victory over Warner University and a loss against Keiser University, the Southeastern University volleyball team will head into conference week two with a road contest against Ave Maria on Wednesday at 7 p.m. and a home contest against Florida Memorial on Saturday at 2 p.m.

The Gyrenes of Ave Maria kicked off their conference slate going 2-0 with a 3-2 victory over preseason favorite, St. Thomas University, and a 3-1 win over Webber International. Collectively, the Gyrenes average 12 kills per set in SUN play with 11 serving aces, and an average of 16.1 digs per set. Through the first two conference contests, Cabriella Bouterse leads the Gyrenes in kills with 27 and a .234 hitting percentage for an average of three kills per set. Victoria Schlein currently averages four digs per set against SUN opponents with 36 total while Lily Witkoski leads the way in assists with 46.

On Saturday, the 5-2 Lions will travel to Lakeland after going 1-1 through their opening week of conference with a 3-0 loss to Keiser and 3-1 victory over Coastal Georgia. As a team, the Lions average 10.9 kills per set and hold a .226 hitting percentage. Caroline Souza leads the Lions in kills through the two conference matches with 29 for an average of nearly five kills per set and has recorded a .317 hitting percentage. Agustine Busque averages 8.9 assists per set with 62 total in seven sets.

The Fire begin the week 5-8 (1-1 SUN) with a team average of 13.1 kills per set in conference play, .228 attack percentage, 11.7 assists per set, and 18 digs per set.
Grace Petty is the Fire's kill leader through the two conference contests with 23 (3.29 per set) with 136 overall.
Ryanne VanWyk has led the Fire in assists with 177 and average of 5.3 per set and holds 39 in SUN play.
Holly Kaczmarek has registered 209 total digs on the season, 37 of which have come against SUN competitors while
Chapel Cunningham has been a force at the net with a team-high 25 blocks.
