Men's Soccer hosts Nine-Time National Champions

LAKELAND, Fla.- Coming off a 3-0 defeat to Grace College, the Southeastern men's soccer team is looking to put that game behind as they host Lindsey Wilson College Saturday at the SEU Soccer Field at 8:00 pm. This game marks the first time these two have played each other.

The Blue Raiders have played two games thus far dropping their opener against Olivet Nazarene University 4-1 and their matchup against University of Northwestern Ohio 3-1. Freshman Sadam Masereka and Sophomore Victor Cavalcante have scored the teams two goals and are players watch this weekend.

Southeastern currently sits at 1-1-1 after three tough matchups. The Fire have played their opponents evenly, matching their goal count at seven with 2.33 goals being scored and allowed on their opponents. The key difference, however, has come from their aggression on the offensive side with 53 shots being put up to their opponents 30. This weekend looks to be a turning point for the Fire to translate more of their shots into potential goals.

Junior Gianluca Contegno has taken little time to adjust to his new team after scoring in two of the first three games. Coming off a strong Junior campaign, Senior Edoardo Venutolo has not slowed down as he's also put in two goals in the first three contests this season. Grad student Jonathan Wocjicki has started all three games for the Fire putting up 13 saves already in a shot heavy schedule.
