Women’s Tennis Drops Second Round Match to LSU Alexandria

MOBILE, Ala.—The Southeastern women's tennis season came to an end with a 4-0 loss to No. 3 LSU Alexandria in the Round of 16 at the NAIA National Championship on Wednesday.
 
Southeastern lost the doubles point, but did win the match at the third flight with Neleah Neiberline and Irene Lopez taking the match 6-4 after the top flight lost 6-0. The second flight went to the Generals 6-2 to secure the point.
 
LSUA won the No. 5, No. 6, then the No. 3 Singles matches to come away with the win.
 
At Line 1, Martina Picardi won the second set 6-0 to force a third before the match was called. Beatrice Letizia was up a set and the second was tied 3-3. Neiberline won the first set 6-2 and was down 6-5 in the second.
 
The Fire finished the season 14-7 and earned their first trip to the national championship.
