Softball Back at top of SUN after Sweep at Florida Memorial

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MIAMI GARDENS, Fla.—Southeastern completed its three-game sweep of Florida Memorial with a pair of run-rule victories Saturday afternoon.
 
The Fire took the first game 11-2 in five innings and the second 9-0 in five to improve to 12-3 in Sun Conference play to move into a tie with Coastal Georgia for first place.
 
Katie Atkins was a big catalyst at the plate, going 3-for-4 in the first game with two RBIs and three runs scored, highlighted by an inside the park home run in the fourth. Ashley Ellison and Jamie Mead had two hits each.
 
Atkins was 2-for-3 with a pair of homers in the second game and Chapel Cunningham added a 3-for-3 effort with a run scored.
 
Kenzie Forrester threw four no-hit innings in the circle with three strikeouts and two walks. Peyton Varela pitched a 1-2-3 fifth to preserve the shutout.
 
The Fire return to action against Warner on Friday at 4 p.m.
