Women’s Basketball Flies Past Webber

LAKELAND, Fla.—A dominating effort from Angela Perry helped Southeastern to its 20th consecutive win Saturday night.
 
The grad transfer fueled an overpowering effort in the paint by the Fire (24-1, 11-0 SUN) in an 82-40 win over Webber International with 23 points, nine rebounds, two assists, a block, and a steal in just 21 minutes.
 
Perry missed just one field goal and made 13 of her 14 free throw attempts. She was called for just one foul and did not commit a turnover.
 
As a team, the Fire shot 19-of-32 from inside the 3-point arc and outscored the Warriors (17-5, 9-3 SUN) 34-20 in the paint. SEU also outrebounded Webber 50-32
 
Defense was a big theme as the Fire recorded 17 steals as part of 23 Webber turnovers. Those 23 turnovers led to 32 Southeastern points.
 
Raegan Linster was in double figures with 12 points and added four rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Tahanee Bennell filled up the stat sheet with eight points, eight assists, and five steals in 22 minutes.
 
The Fire return to action on Thursday at St. Thomas with a 5:30 start.
