LAKELAND, Fla.- The No. 1 Southeastern University women's basketball team is set to host the Ave Maria University Gyrenes in the 2021-22 Sun Conference Women's Basketball Tournament Semifinals tomorrow evening at 5:00 p.m. inside The Furnace.

The Fire finished the regular season with a 23-game winning streak with a record of 27-1 overall. The Fire are undefeated in conference play 16-0.Â

The Fire enter the SUN tourney as the top-seeded team. SEU makes 30.9 field goals per game and 8.9 three-pointers per contest.
Angela Perry, the leading scorer for the Fire, averages 18.7 points a game and 6.5 rebounds. Earlier today, Perry was named The Sun Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Year.

Leilah Vigil, the next leading scorer for the Fire, averages 12.5 points a game and 5.8 rebounds.
Marta Aranda, the third leading scorer, averages 10.4 points per game and 3.5 rebounds.

The Ave Maria Gyrenes are 16-11 overall for the season and 8-8 in conference play, entering the tournament as the fifth-seeded team. They are on a 4-game winning streak as they head into the semifinals, defeating Keiser on the road in the quarterfinals 48-44 this past Tuesday.

AMU averages 67.7 points per game and 24.8 field goals per game. The top scorer for the Gyrenes is Lavariah Armstead, who averages 12.7 points a game and 5 rebounds per contest. The second leading scorer, Casey Humphrey, averages 11.7 points per game and 3.2 rebounds. Gianna Santacroce, the third leading scorer, averages 11.3 points per game and 6.4 rebounds.
