AVE MARIA, Fla.—The Fire women's tennis team scored an upset win in its first Sun Conference match of the year.
 
Southeastern knocked off 18
th-ranked Ave Maria by the score of 4-3 to improve to 1-1 on the year.
 
The Fire took the doubles point with a 6-2 win by 
Priscila Baptista and 
Martina Picardi at No 2 Doubles and a 6-4 win by 
Neleah Neiberline and 
Abigail Damon at No. 3 to take a 1-0 lead.
 
Picardi took the #1 Singles match against No. 22 Lara Teodoro 7-6, 6-4 and 
Beatrice Letizia took the #2 Singles match 7-5, 6-0. Baptista was a winner at #5 Singles, 6-1, 6-2.
 
The Fire return to the courts on Monday for a scrimmage at Abraham-Baldwin.
