Riley Minix as the Fire fell to No. 8 ranked Faulkner University by a score of 80-57.

Minix led both teams in points and rebounds as he concluded the contest with 30 points and 11 rebounds after going 12-20 from the field and 5-9 from beyond the arc.

The Fire (7-8) were outscored 36-29 in the first half after going 12-28 from field goal range and 4-14 from three-point range. The Eagles would get on the board first with a jumper with 18:55 on the clock and would hold the lead for the entirety of the contest.

In the second half, the Eagles outscored the Fire 44-28 behind a 5-12 (42%) effort from distance and a 13-14 effort from the free-throw line. The Eagles would conclude the dominating second half with an 80-57 victory as the Fire would fall to 7-8 on the season.

Collectively, the Fire concluded the contest shooting 44% from the field and 29% from three-point range.

The Fire will look to respond tomorrow with a 6:45 p.m. contest against Talladega College to round out the Southern States Crossover.
